    Private David Collier, Company K, 4th Reserves. Listed as simply "* Wounded (date and place not stated). He was discharged for disability on 8/16/1862"

    In a letter written by an unknown writer from Company K, of the 4th Regiment, while giving an account of casualties taken at the Battle of Gaines' Mill, it states:

    "Wounded – Private David Collier, Charleston, two fingers of right hand shot off."1

    It should be noted that Private David Collier be listed on every muster roll as "Wounded at Gaines' Mill, Virginia; June 27th, 1862" during the Seven Days Campaign.
